knitted Turbans... for babies!

This is both funny AND stylish! Turbans are coming back in a big way but how about this- Baby turbans! YAY! Who'da thunk it?

by the by, I want to eat that first baby... nom nom nom. yummy fat baby. :)
This particular turban pattern is for sale on pickles. But if your a knitter, I have found and included a free pattern of it (you're welcome):
I'm literally busting at the seams to make this! Baby hats are the BEST cause they are tiny and dont take so long to make... booya.

Cast on 60 stitches on small circular needles.
US 5. Knit in the round.
K 1 round, P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round
K 7
P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round
K 7
P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round

On the next round, make the small turban knot like this:
K 30. Wind the yarn tightly around the work (all of what you´ve knitted so far) between the left and the right needle. Wind it about 10 times to make a knot.
K 30.
K 1 round, and when you reach the stitch before you made the knot, K2tog. Tighten the yarn.
K 4 rounds.
P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round, K 1 round.

K 5 rounds. Decrease 12 stitches evenly on the last round.
K 1 round, P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round
K 6 rounds. Decrease 12 stitches evenly on the last round.
K 1 round, P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round
K 6 rounds. Decrease 12 stitches evenly on the last round.

Use a needle and put it through the remaining stitches. Assemble.

I have a hard time reading knitting patterns and have a bad feeling about the knot part... This is where I need a bad ass knitting grandma to school me on how its done.

Baby turbans.. ha! What will they think of next...

In the spirit of Christmas and moustaches (Im always full of Moustache spirit) I am sharing with you all (and by all I think I mean all 3 of my readers out there) :) our Christmas card which Duncan and I had a lot of fun making. He was confused why he had to put a fake tasche over his beard and I tried to explain it was funnier this way.
He wouldn't shave it all down to a fu man shu like I was hoping (sad face) but I think it worked out A-OK.

Merry Christmas Bitches!!!

(Am I the only one that thinks Izzy looks like a detective in this?) I ought to superimpose a pipe coming out of her mouth. DOH! that would have been brilliant!
ah well, theres always next year!!

I love me some facial hair. On that note, I would also like to share something I came across on Etsy which will be sure to make you giggle.
Introducing, BABY BEARDS!!!

umm... AWESOME yes??
I love it, its Crocheted into the hat. Genius. If you care to buy one of these bad boys you can do so here.

and if that isn't funny enough, I also found some fan-tasche-tic pacifiers. LOVE.
so funny and also for sale on Etsy. Honestly I feel like this would be very simple to make yourself if you bought some foam board, cut out 2 pieces for the tasche and the beard (or you could just do the one moustache) and attached the pieces directly to any old pacifier.

Here are some fun mustaches that you could print and resize then trace to get a fun selection going... you could have one for every mood baby has!

This particular idea (handheld mustaches) would be SO easy to do for a party or something, you could hand em out when your guests arrive. In fact, we have a New Years Eve party coming up and I may just do this. If I do I will be sure to post pictures!! :)

Another fun idea if you have a bunch of leftover fabric and want to do a funny pillow for a kid's room would be a moustache pillow! I found this one on Etsy...
This would be easy to throw together. All you would need to do is draw out the shape on the backside of your fabric and cut 2 pieces, stitch together (leaving a hole about 4" wide from which to turn it rightside out and stuff with any old pillow stuffing & sew shut!) or you could be lazy and buy one on Etsy, theres a lot out there!
It would look awesome on a sofa!

and for all you bakers out there, a GREAT Xmas preset would be these hilarious tashe cookie cutters! HA! Nothing would make me happier than noshing on a mustache cookie...
Well worth the $15 in my humble opinion. This is a gift that just keeps on giving...

Truly, the possibilities are endless folks!!!

button on Etsy (where else?!)

This post is dedicated to my old pal Jordan who likes me blog! YAY!!! Cheers for the support mate!!! xo
